Australian Trek Leaders:

David Page-Dhu

One of the Directors of Northern DisTRACKtions, David was raised in Papua New Guinea as a child and has a soft spot for the people and the culture of PNG. He has lead many groups of fit trekkers across the Kokoda which included Students from Geelong college, Cathedral School in Townsville and students from Yeppoon. His historical knowledge base is vast and he along with only a few other companies, began taking groups across the Track in the early 1980's. Since then he has taken over 3500 clients SAFELY across the dangerous Kokoda Track.

His love of his local carriers from Buna Village is very apparent and the 'Boys from Buna' always will show their respect and loyalty by sharing with all our clients the most exemplary of care and service.

He is a teacher of outdoor education at the Cathedral school of Townsville

Jay Sindorf

Jay has been with Northern DisTRACKtions for many years and has been a considerable asset helping complete complex setups of multiple Kokoda trips and is a great guide to have on the team. His knowledge of Pigin-English and historical ancticdodes as well as a quick wit, make him a favourite with our local carriers as well as all of our clients

When not hiking, he is a computer networking entrepeneur and a budding brewmaster, .

 

Paul O'Dowd

Paul has been with Northern DisTRACKtions for several years and is known for his incredible knowledge base in flora and fauna.

Paul also speaks Pigin-English fluently as he has spent many years working in the Sepik area of PNG. He is also a guide for the Kokoda trips as well as the Sepik region.

Recently he has assisted the BBC with on location filming in PNG within a remote region of the Highlands, acting as translator and mediator between filming crew and local peoples.

He currently resides in Melbourne and has started his own adventure company.

Jannah Brown

Jannah has been with Northern DisTRACKtions for 2 years and has completed the Kokoda track 8 times.

She is also keen to be the forefront guide of our new Tufi paddling trip. Being Canadian, she has navigated many paddling trips in the cool waters of Ontario and British Columbia and is keen to start paddling in warmer waters.

She currently resides in Townsville, North Queensland.

David Eke

David has also been with Northern DisTRACKtions for a fair time and has led many trips across the track.

David has a great knowledge of historical events that happened during the war and is keen to share his knowledge with fellow hikers.

When not on the Kokoda track, he is principal at Bundaberg school.

He currently resides in Bundaberg, Qld

Emanual Tindeba

Emanual has worked for Northern DisTRACKtions for 6yrs and has crossed the Kokoda Track, 16 times.

He is a quiet, soft spoken and hard worker. His strength and ability of endurance is incredible and it is easy to see where the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel traits has carried forward.

He is always there for anyone who needs the extra helping hand and has been known to carry two packs at once to lighten the load of someone who may be struggling (carrier or client)

He also takes individual clients across the track as a solo guide leader, for those who are uncomfortable with the premise of walking in a group and just want to go on their own.

He resides in Port Moresby
